The
Transaction Advisory Services Group is seeking a hands-on
Manager or Senior Manager to lead the tax consulting practice of the group. This individual will primarily focus on the tax aspects of buy / sell transactions, by assisting clients with deal structure and due diligence. This position can be in the Troy, MI or Houston, TX office.
Responsibilities: - Lead the execution of comprehensive tax analysis and due diligence focusing in federal, state and local income tax, sales and use tax, employment tax and personal property tax.
- Advise clients on tax implications related to deal structures, financing and post-acquisition integration.
- Analyze and advise clients on tax implications of various deal structures and understand how they affect the overall tax position of the transaction.
- Advise clients on the most effective tax-strategies.
- Ensure clients are in compliance with tax regulations and reporting requirements through the transaction process.
- Lead client meetings and target site visits while interacting with top-level management to obtain pertinent information for complex tax concepts and strategies.
- Collaborate with other functional areas of the practice including financial due diligence, tax, audit and other consulting professionals to develop a comprehensive tax strategy that aligns with the client's broader business objectives.
- Partner with internal team members and referral sources to identify new marketplace opportunities and develop new business.
- Develop and mentor team members to assist them in their career development and reaching their career goals.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and/or Finance required
- Masters in Taxation preferred
- CPA License required
- A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, 3 years of Transaction Advisory experience required
- Possess a high degree of knowledge of US federal, state income and international tax disciplines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Prior experience leading and managing teams, projects and multiple deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
- Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to travel up to 10%
