Overview WakeMed Physician Practices is a multi-specialty group with nearly 500 physicians in a variety of specialty areas. Our organization places a high value on quality, caring and compassionate physicians and we are committed to providi ng state-of-the- art health care to our patients and the community we serve. We are currently seeking a BE/BC sleep medicine physician to join the WakeMed sleep medicine division located in Cary, NC. The WakeMed sleep medicine division is recruiting to support further growth. The ideal candidate would be a current sleep medicine fellow physician who is comfortable and excited about practicing 100% comprehensive sleep medicine including treatment of central sleep apnea (both off-label and on label treatment options), treatment of restless legs with augmentation including iron infusions, and an interest in treating sleep apnea with devices including hypoglossal nerve stimulators and phrenic nerve stimulators. The clinic currently is an adult only clinic. However, there is room to expand and collaborate with the pediatric sleep medicine program at WakeMed. Growth plans include potentially expanding the division with satellite clinics to help better serve the population of Wake County in the future. The clinic uses Epic as the electronic healthcare record. The clinic has a supporting sleep lab in the same building. The sleep lab is a brand-new state-of-the-art sleep lab. We are working towards AASM accreditation and hold the highest standards. The sleep lab is utilizing Nox equipment and software. The sleep medicine physicians provide a consultatory role with the assistance of management and direction of the sleep lab. Any sleep medicine physician would be expected to take part in sharing the sleep lab call. There is a healthy balance between time spent in clinic and time interpreting sleep studies. Reading sleep studies are fairly distributed. Supervision of APPs is part of the standard contract for physicians.
