JOB – Mechanical (Marine) Engineer

LOCATION – Pinellas Park, FL

SALARY - $90,000 - $105,000

TERM – Direct Hire

A leading manufacturer of performance marine vessels is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join their growing team. This is a full-time, hands-on engineering role responsible for the design and integration of production equipment and components for ship building.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience designing mechanical systems within marine or heavy machinery environments.

The Mechanical Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

• Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 2+ years of mechanical design experience, ideally in marine vessel manufacturing or similar industries.
• Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems including propulsion, HVAC, plumbing, steering, and auxiliary machinery.
• Familiarity with materials suited to marine environments, including metals, composites, and fiberglass.
• Working knowledge of maritime codes and certifications (ABS, DNV-GL, SOLAS, etc.).
• A proactive, hands-on approach with excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work cross-functionally during vessel construction.

The Mechanical Engineer duties will involve:

• Designing and developing mechanical systems for marine vessels.
• Creating 3D CAD models, system schematics, and technical documentation.
• Selecting appropriate materials and components for durability and performance in marine environments.
• Collaborating with electrical, structural, and production teams during all stages of boat construction.
• Overseeing installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems onboard.
• Supporting long-term maintenance, diagnostics, and continuous improvement efforts.
• Ensuring all systems are compliant with relevant marine industry regulations and safety standards.
