Join the dedicated team in Scotia, NY, as a skilled and reliable School Maintenance Mechanic! You'll play a crucial role in ensuring the school facilities are safe, functional, and well-maintained, providing a comfortable learning environment for students and staff.

Job Type: Full-time, in person

Pay: $26.85 per hour

Tasks:

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on buildings, grounds, and equipment, including HVAC (basic troubleshooting and minor repairs), plumbing (leaks, clogs), electrical (light bulbs, ballasts, outlets), and carpentry (doors, windows, furniture).
• Conduct painting and wall repairs.
• Handle light landscaping and snow removal as needed.
• Regularly inspect facilities to identify potential issues and safety hazards.
• Respond promptly and efficiently to maintenance requests.
• Assist with setting up and breaking down for school events and activities.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work.
• Ensure adherence to safety regulations and procedures.
• Collaborate with school staff and external contractors.
• Assist with preventative maintenance programs.

Qualifications:

• 5 or more years experience as a maintenance mechanic or experience in a similar role.
• Ability to effectively troubleshoot and diagnose maintenance issues.
• Proficient in the safe operation of hand and power tools.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
