George Junior Republic (GJR) was established in 1909 in Grove City, PA. Since that time the organization has grown to include GJR (parent company), GJR in Pennsylvania, GJR in Indiana, GJR Preventative Aftercare, the Risk Retention Group, and GJR Realty. In order to meet the mission of the organization, GJR seeks applicants for the position of fundraiser. The position will be based from the Grove City corporate office.

Summary of the position: The Fundraiser is responsible for raising funds to support George Junior Republic and Affiliates. The Fundraiser will pursue funding from a variety of sources, will meet or surpass fundraising goals, and enhance the organization’s donor base.

Description of Duty

Fundraising

• In partnership with leadership, develop fundraising goals for each company.
• Assist the Development team in establishing and executing fundraising drives.
• Coordinate fundraising events for each company.
• Evaluate fundraising efforts and adjust as needed.
• Meet or surpass fundraising targets.
• Campaign management, to include:
  1. Annual campaigns
  2. Major-gifts
  3. Planned giving
  4. Capital campaigns
• Travel as needed to complete assigned fundraising efforts.

Budgeting

• In conjunction with departmental supervisor, prepare annual budgets and projections.

Research

• Research various fundraising efforts.

Marketing

• Have a clear understanding of GJR and Affiliates programs and organizational history.
• Communicate the mission, vision, and values of the organization on a consistent and regular basis.
• In conjunction with the departmental team, create and distribute communication/marketing campaigns
• Utilize online platforms to increase donations.

Constituent Development and Management

• Research prospective donors
• Develop and manage constituent relationships.
• Attend networking events.
• Provide campus tours
• Actively meet with community members, donors, and alumni to build the constituent pool.

Documentation

• Document interactions with donors.

Compliance

• Ensure legal reporting requirements are satisfied

Must be able to walk, bend, stoop and kneel.

Work Location: In the office and community.

This position will be required to travel across Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Indiana.

REQUIREMENTS

Education

Bachelor’s degree required, coursework in writing required, training/coursework in nonprofit fundraising required

Licensure

N/A

Years of Experience

At least three years fundraising experience

Computer Experience

Microsoft Applications, Adobe, digital marketing software, fundraising software

Other

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Able to work with individuals representing diverse backgrounds, professions, and experiences.
• Excellent organizational skills
• Detail oriented
• Able to work as a member of a team
