Director of Data Science

Location: San Francisco (Remote Eligible with Travel)

Salary: $230-260k base + equity

Our client - a rapidly growing travel platform - is hiring a Director of Data Science to lead a high-performing team and foster strategic, data-driven decision making. As they scale, they're looking for a visionary leader to lead Data Science, Product Analytics, & Business Analytics.

The Role:

• Mentor and grow a team of senior data scientists, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and impact.
• Leverage statistical modeling and ML to forecast business trends , optimize pricing, and enhance customer experiences.
• Design, implement, and analyze experiments to measure impact of product changes, marketing campaigns, and operational improvements.
• Define frameworks for data governance, quality, and infrastructure to ensure accuracy, consistency, and accessibility of insights across the company.
• Partner with Product, Finance, Marketing, Sales, and Ops to develop KPI's, analyze performance , and provide actionable recommendations.
• Oversee the development of automated dashboards and self-service analytics tools to empower teams with real-time insights.

Ideal Candidate:

• 10+ years of experience in data science, including 5+ years in leadership roles.
• Experience working at start-up, innovative, or industry-disruptive company
• Strong background in predictive analytics, statistical modeling, and A/B testing methodologies to drive data-driven decision-making.
• Expertise in SQL, Python, or R, with experience in BI tools like Looker, Tableau, or Sigma.
• Proven ability to translate data into actionable insights that drive measurable business impact.
• Experience working cross-functionally and influencing executive stakeholders.
• Background in B2B SaaS or travel industry is a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field required; Master's or MBA preferred.
