Application Azure DevOps Consultant

Apex Systems is a global IT services provider and our consulting practice has an opening for an Application Azure DevOps Consultant to lead Azure DevOps adoption, providing strategic guidance and hands-on technical assistance for CI/CD pipeline automation across various platforms. The role involves designing seamless integrations, refining governance models, developing reusable templates, and ensuring compliance with security standards.

Client: Top 5 Bank

Terms: 6-month contract, with possible extension and/or conversion to FTE

Start Date: ASAP

Hybrid model: 1-2 days a week

Location: Downtown Toronto, Ontario, Canada

What You’ll Be Doing

The Application DevOps Consultant is responsible for leading Azure DevOps adoption. The role provides consultation for senior management on a wide spectrum of existing and emerging application technologies for delivering end-to-end automation for CI/CD DevOps pipelines. The DevOps Consultant provides hands-on technical assistance to develop precise steps and processing logic across all platforms, ensuring the designed specifications achieve business needs.

How You’ll Succeed

• Design and implement seamless CI/CD pipeline integrations with Salesforce and ETL components
• Collaborate closely with developers, Project Managers, and the DevOps team to align technical solutions with business objectives and project timelines.
• Assess and refine governance models for pipeline security, compliance, and access control ensuring adherence to regulatory and enterprise security standards.
• Develop architectural patterns and reusable YAML templates to streamline CI/CD implementations across multiple teams and projects.
• Establish and refine DevOps best practices, focusing on automation, performance optimization, and security compliance using Powershell and Python
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical challenges across DevOps pipelines, designing long-term, scalable solutions.
• Develop comprehensive documentation for DevOps processes, tools, and workflows to support knowledge sharing and future enhancements.
• Provide strategic guidance & technical leadership and insights to team, ensuring visibility to management into DevOps transformation efforts and key architectural decisions.
• Strategy and Roadmap: Contribute to technology roadmaps that are aligned with the bank’s vision, strategy, and business objectives. Lead multiple complex technology solutions while maintaining consistency across the platform, adopting best practices and pushing forward continuous improvements
• Stakeholder Management: Act as the solution lead and interface with the project teams by driving and moderating design review sessions to walk stakeholders through and ensure that the overall design aligns with business requirements as well as architectural directions. Support and mentor junior designers and developers through knowledge sharing, collaboration and effective problem solving

• SF DEVOPS Skillset (good to have)
• Expertise in Salesforce configuration, customization and administration
• Change sets
• SFDX
• Metadata API, XML Deployments
• Basics of BASH Programming
• Git Branching Strategies, SonarQube, Apex PMD, CI/CD, SFDX, Salesforce scratch org, Powershell, Sandbox administration
• Continuous Integration and Track-Based Development

Who You Are

• You can demonstrate 5+ years’ experience in designing, developing, implementing and supporting applications with expertise in most of the following: DevOps and Tools (Tools: source control/issue management: Azure Git, JIRA, Azure DevOps).
